Marketers know that if you slap pretty pictures of plants along with the words “green” and “biodegradable” on products, people will just assume the product is safe and environmentally friendly without actually reading the ingredients.

There are many cleaning chemicals out there, probably many more than can be named in one blog post. Chemicals for cleaning windows, toilets, metal, plastic, wood, and so on.

Strong cleaning agents are usually made up of harsh chemicals. However, don’t go thinking that if you mix two cleaning agents together, you will get a better cleaning agent.

Triclosan is a common antibacterial and antifungal ingredient found in many cleaning products such as hand sanitizers, toothpaste, deodorants, and many other cleaning supplies. It has been in use since 1972, and is being used in an increasing number of products such as kitchen utensils and children’s toys.

So you use air fresheners, sprays, deodorizers, plugins, candles, and all the like. You come home to a neat house and take a deep breath relishing in the smell. Flowers or incense, the smell of freshness and cleanliness. You sigh thinking to yourself, now this is a clean house!

If you are choosing a cleaning product there are a myriad of choices, but come down to essentially two different chemicals. Bleach or ammonia. Now we know the golden rule of chemical compounds is DO NOT MIX THESE TWO, but what else do we know? Yes they smell pungent and clean amazingly well.
